Ironman Asia-Pacific Melbourne
Last year’s Ironman Asia-Pacific Melbourne sold out in a matter of minutes. Entries have now opened for 2014, but you’ll have to be quick
When entries for the 2013 URBAN Hotel Group IRONMAN® Asia-Pacific Championship Melbourne went on sale last year, it took just 4 minutes 57 seconds to sell out beating the 2012 event which set a world-best time last year of 5 minutes and 10 seconds. Now, less than two weeks removed from the finish of this year’s race on Sunday, 24 March, which featured Eneko Llanos of Spain (7:36:08) and Corinne Abraham of Great Britain (8:10:56) taking top honours amongst 1,800 athletes, general entries for the 2014 event are set to open Thursday, 4 April at 11am AEST.
“Building on the success of the last two years and with the Triathlon Australia allocation selling out in a matter of minutes today, I would strongly suggest those interested not miss their chance to take part in this iconic race,” said USM Events representative Jennifer Smith.
TA’s priority allotment is 25% of what is expected to be an increased field of approximately 2,200.
