Brothers against the world

The Jacobs boys are ready to prove they are a force to be reckoned with

This month the Jacobs brothers are set to take on the world each in their respective sports. Not every Australian family has a world-class athlete to show off, let alone two. Born and bred on the Northern beaches, the Jacobs brothers are no strangers to ocean and endurance sports.

Tim, a two-time champion of both the Hong Kong Dragon Run and the Dubai Ocean Ski Race, will be competing as part of the National Team at this year’s World Ocean Ski Championships on July 12-14th in Portugal.

After his last win in the 2010 ICF World Series Nelo Summer Challenge in Portugal, the celebrated paddler is keen to get back into the European waters and prove himself once again. “The North Atlantic Ocean will provide some fantastic racing conditions and the field will be one of the best and largest ever assembled. This race will bring out the best in everyone,” says Tim Jacobs.

Pete Jacobs will be standing front and centre this month at the European Ironman Triathlon Championships on July 7th in Frankfurt. Pete will be going up againsr big names like Marino Vanhoenaker, Ineko Lanos and Sebastian Kienle who have marked Jacobs as the man to beat.

“Frankfurt is definitely one of the biggest and most prestigious races. I need a strong focus to stay on track with my training and recovery throughout the year and the Ironman European Championship will definitely give me that. It’s going to be a very strong field and I’d love to show them how I’ve always performed will in Germany.” says Pete Jacobs.

Flying the Aussie flag on the world stage is not uncommon for the Jacobs brothers. However, for the first time the boys will be sporting the same product. Both will be donning Rudy Project eyewear both on and off the course. Tim Jacobs weapon of choice will be his Nelo ocean ski and Braca paddle while Pete will be riding on a Boardman Bike, and decked out with a pair Asics Hyperspeeds and a Blueseventy wetsuit come July 7th.

Representing Australia on the world stage is not new to the Jacobs family, but they are looking forward to showing the world that they are still a force to be reckoned with.
